Olivia Donaghy is a psychologist working alongside trans children, young people, and adults in public mental health, community organisations, and private practice for almost two decades. A cis woman, living and working on Jagera and Turrbal country in Meanjin (Brisbane), Olivia brings a strong commitment to human rights, health equity, and strives for the highest standards in health service delivery. Olivia established and led the first multi-disciplinary gender clinic for trans youth in Queensland at The Children's Hospital, and with that esteemed team delivered care to more than 2000 children and young people across the state. Prior to this she supported families and young people as an advanced psychologist with Child & Youth Mental Health and in private practice with adults. Olivia contributes to research in this field, establishing the psychometric properties of the Gender Preoccupation and Stability Questionnaire (GPSQ) in adolescents and evaluating long term health outcomes. In addition to her clinical and research contributions, Olivia delivers training and policy consultation to promote competent care and inclusive, supportive environments for gender‑diverse young people to thrive.
