Kristy Apps is a social worker and counsellor with extensive experience supporting older adolescents and adults in a variety of settings including Queensland Health, University student support services and community organisations. She brings a strong commitment to LGBTIQ+ inclusion and culturally respectful practice with First Nations people. Kristy works with older adolescents and adults. Her practice is grounded in a person-centred, strengths-based approach, and creates a respectful, affirming space for all clients. A Griffith University graduate with First Class Honours, Kristy’s background spans university teaching, youth work, drug and alcohol counselling, student wellbeing, research, and equity education and is engaged in a PhD exploring the connections between music and wellbeing . Across all roles, she has maintained a strong focus on mental health, identity, and empowerment. Kristy brings warmth, insight, and genuine care to her work—supporting people to explore challenges, rediscover strengths, and move toward meaningful change. Outside of her clinical work, Kristy is also a talented musician and values creativity as a key part of wellbeing. She enjoys days by the pool and spending playful time with her young daughter.
